When looking at a reference photo most often we can get trapped into painting all that we see, which can result with not leaving much to the imagination. If realism is what you want, that's fine, but if it's not perfect, it can really be distracting. Allow yourself to be a bit looser with your brush, play with your water-to-color blend, allow colors to mingle on the paper and make those so called mistakes look intentional. Here we completely transform what you see in a reference photo. Without using a value sketch or overthinking it, using loose strokes and with a limited palette, be more creative, free and just have fun.
