This 6-week course is an inspiring introduction to painting large, seamless, moody atmospheric landscapes—while building confidence with watercolor fundamentals that carry into every subject.

You’ll learn how to release the fear of the white paper, let go of hesitation, and confidently get your brushes wet. By keeping things simple and focusing on what truly matters, you’ll learn how to reduce visual noise and create paintings that feel spacious, expressive, and intentional.

Rather than overworking details, we’ll focus on capturing the essence of the landscape—learning how to suggest rain, misty mornings, fog, wind, and changing light with clarity and ease.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to paint large, seamless washes with confidence
  • Simplifying landscapes to focus on light, mood, and atmosphere
  • Letting go of fear and learning to trust water and flow
  • Creating rain, fog, mist, and wind using expressive techniques
  • Blending and mingling color for soft transitions
  • Using glazing to build depth and luminosity
  • Creating texture without over-detailing
  • Developing confident, intentional brushwork

This course includes 16+ easy-to-follow, step-by-step lessons, plus bonus content. Artists of all levels are welcome, with a focus on beginner to intermediate painters who want to feel more confident and free in their work.

Course Structure & Live Support

Over six weeks, we’ll work together to develop your skills gradually, helping you build confidence and apply what you learn to your own paintings—not just the course projects.

Live Zoom meetings are optional and designed to support your learning. Sessions focus on selected lessons, common challenges, and painting reviews, and all meetings are recorded and posted for replay.

Live meetings are scheduled every other week, giving you time to work through the lessons, paint at your own pace, and bring questions or works in progress to our time together.
