About Birgit O'Connor

Birgit O'Connor is an internationally recognized watercolor artist, author, and instructor who has helped thousands of artists develop their watercolor skills through workshops, online courses, books, and demonstrations.

A featured instructor for art centers and watercolor societies throughout the United States and Canada, Birgit has also served as a faculty member for Watercolor Live in 2020, 2021, and 2023. Her paintings have been juried into numerous national and international exhibitions, and she has served as a judge and juror for many prestigious shows, including the Transparent Watercolor Society of America.

Known for her encouraging and approachable teaching style, Birgit specializes in helping artists simplify what they see, understand light and value, and paint with greater confidence.
